MULTIVAC looks back on a successful 2017 and continues on the path of growth

Wolfertschwenden, 21 March 2018 - As part of a press breakfast at Anuga FoodTec in Cologne, MULTIVAC looked back on a successful 2017 and presented its strategy for 2018, which also included a catalogue of measures for supporting the EU's Plastics Strategy.

 

In front of more than 50 journalists from home and abroad, Hans- Joachim Boekstegers, Director and CEO, gave an overview of the past year and a perspective on what can be expected from MULTIVAC in the coming months.

With a footfall of over ten thousand unique visitors, South India’s largest packaging Show- PackPlus South’18, set another benchmark as the most attended packaging show in the South. The four day show concluded successfully along with PrintFair on 12 th March at HITEX Exhibition Centre, Hyderabad. With 250+ exhibitors, 150+ live demos the visitors had much to partake.

Constantia Flexibles Group is investing in new technology at its flexible packaging subsidiary in Vietnam to expand its product portfolio. Ho Chi Minh City-based Oai Hung Manufacturing Joint Stock Co. will install a new printing machine and a laminator that represent a single-digit million euro investment.

Small is beautiful for new closure

A new 19mm tube closure from RPC Zeller Plastik Zell is the first standard push-on flip-top hinge tube closure (HTC) of such a small size.

 

Aimed at cosmetic and pharmaceutical products, the new-size polypropylene closure extends RPC Zeller’s existing Supersoft range with a solution that offers both aesthetic and consumer-convenience benefits.

 

The 1.2g closure is pushed onto the shoulder of tubes and can be oriented towards the printing for added decorative possibilities. In addition, its outer dimensions are in line with the tube diameter.

B&R's new flexible transport system is designed to deliver ultimate production effectiveness – from mass production down to batches of one. Playing a pivotal role in making this possible are the system's purely electromagnetic diverters, which are able to divide and merge product flows at full production speed. B&R expands Gilgenberg site : Automation specialist invests in production, office space and logistics

B&R is investing in its Gilgenberg site, located a few kilometers from the B&R headquarters in Eggelsberg. The expansion adds new offices, training rooms and production space. A new logistics hall has also been opened at the site.

 

The aim is to establish Gilgenberg as a competence center for the development and production of electro-mechanical products. B&R motors are already assembled there. In the future, Gilgenberg will also host de-velopment and production of the intelligent ACOPOStrak transport system.
