Schreiner MediPharm, a Germany-based global provider of specialty pharmaceutical labeling solutions for over 65 years, has developed a new tamper-evident security concept for luer-lock syringes. Schreiner MediPharm’s Cap-Lock features a combination of a cap adapter and label that firmly seals prefilled syringes for reliable first opening indication. The solution therefore ensures the primary container’s integrity by preventing undetected opening of the cap.

The number of applications through the nasal route is expanding, either for local treatments (e.g. chronic rhinosinusitis) or for systemic treatments (e.g. migraine, etc.). The clinical efficacy of a nasal treatment depends on how it is deposited in the nose, because the pharmaceutical target (local, systemic, brain) is directly related to a specific nasal anatomical site. So it is important for device manufacturers like Nemera to support new drug development in that area.

Project Helps Prevent Food Waste at Home

In an attempt to alter this behaviour, RPC Superfos has contributed to the development of a new multifunctional plastic storage box which ensures a more even distribution of the microwave heat. This development project has been run together with Imerco, a Danish chain of retailers of household and home decoration products, and the Danish Technological Institute. The new plastic storage box makes reheated leftovers tastier and thus helps to reduce food waste at household level.

Lost Sheep Coffee launches capsule made from wood

 Using the latest advancements in composability technology, the new capsules are made predominantly from wood bark, a waste product of the paper industry. Used with renewable raw materials used in the making include natural occurring plant-based proteins, starches and clucose made up the biopolymer structure of the capsule which means that the capsules are totally plastic free.
