Nutrish unveils updated packaging, new formulas for pet health

Nutrish, a pet food brand inspired by celebrity chef Rachael Ray, has launched a new packaging design alongside several new veterinarian-reviewed formulas aimed at supporting pet health.

The updated packaging will be seen on products such as Nutrish Grain Free for Dogs, Nutrish Whole Health Blend Puppy, and Nutrish Healthy Aging for Cats, making it easier for pet owners to identify the right choice for their pets.

New mercury-reducing packaging solution sets a safer standard for canned tuna

Mercury contamination in fish is a growing concern, particularly in species like tuna, which accumulate the toxic substance through the food chain. While fish is a high-quality source of protein and essential nutrients, its mercury content, especially in higher trophic species, poses serious health risks. The World Health Organization (WHO) has listed mercury as one of the top ten most hazardous chemicals to human health, citing its potential to damage the nervous system, with foetuses and young children particularly vulnerable.

The new legislation, set to take effect in April 2025, has drawn heavy criticism from British Glass, the trade body representing the industry. It claims the tax disproportionately targets glass packaging, threatening jobs, economic stability, and sustainability efforts.

Termotécnica presents packaging solution to support Brazil’s grape exports to China

Termotécnica, one of the largest manufacturers of EPS packaging in Latin America, has highlighted the role post-harvest technology will play the developing fresh table grape trade between Brazil and China. 

Authorities form Brazil and China signed a phytosanitary protocol allowing for the export of fresh grapes from Brazil to China in November 

Eduardo Brandão, executive director of the Brazilian Association of Exporters of Fruit and Derivatives (Abrafrutas), said while it was important for Brazil to seek new export markets, logistics could be a challenge.
