Reflex Multi Pack manufactured a cushion multi functionality pack for hard disk drive. This Cushion for Western Digital Drives delivers performance on protection with multi-functionality. This is designed from recycled materials and provides product protection and utilizes fewer resources. Manufactured from 100% recycled PE content by  combination of Vacuum Thermoforming and Die Cut methods.

Ikea is planning to use packaging made with mushrooms as an eco-friendly replacement for polystyrene. The American company Ecovative developed the product, which it calls Mushroom Packaging, by letting the mycelium grow around clean agricultural waste, such as corn stalks or husks. Over a few days, the fungus fibres bind the waste together, forming a solid shape, which is then dried to stop it growing any further. Mycelium is the part of a fungus that effectively acts as its roots. It grows in a mass of branched fibres, attaching itself to the soil or whatever surface it is growing on.

Scientist has developed a new kind of natural packaging wrap derived from the shells of shrimp and other crustaceans which could go significantly beyond the preservation potential of today’s plastic wrap. Researchers have spent three years developing their new composite material, which they say can double the shelf-life of perishable food such as bread. The film’s main constituent is chitosan, a polymer synthesised from the exoskeletons of crustaceans.  it’s bio-degradable and possesses an excellent film-forming ability.
