Laïta’s French Pancakes Get a Sustainable Makeover with Eco-Friendly Packaging

In a move towards sustainability, Laïta, the leading dairy cooperative in Western France, has introduced a major change to the packaging of its beloved Paysan Breton pancakes, a household name in France. As part of their commitment to reducing environmental impact, Laïta has upgraded the secondary packaging of their popular crêpes to a recyclable, mono-material solution.

The company already enjoys a long-standing relationship with Henkel, a global leader in many industrial and consumer businesses. UPM Specialty Papers also recently embarked on projects with Koenig & Bauer, a globally active printing press manufacturer and software solutions provider.

The new furnace was officially inaugurated on September 10, 2024, in Cognac.

The 180 tpd furnace, equivalent to 300,000 bottles, will be mainly used for flagship Cognac brands.

This makes it the largest electric furnace for glass packaging in the world.
