opportunities for the packaging industry is huge in cities such as coimbatore, madurai and chennai because of the growth of modern trade in the state, according to shafiq ahamad, joint secretary of indian printing packing and allied machinery manufacturers&rsquo association.he told presspersons here on monday that tamil nadu, kerala and karnataka are emerging as the fastest growing printing hubs in the country and it is mainly because of the availability of printing technologies.the potential is huge in the state for new printing and packaging units.the indian printing and packaging sector is growing at 10 per cent to 15 per cent annually.with introduction of digital technology in prepress, press and post press, india has a huge market and resources. the sme sector in the southern states can gear up for the market.expoc.p. paul, general secretary of the association, said that of the 700 players in the packaging industry, 95 per cent are in the sme sector.they said that print pack india, an expo for the printing, packaging and allied industries, will be held from february 11 to 15 at the greater noida expo mart. it will have visitors from 10 countries. several overseas printing associations are sending their delegations.this will be an opportunities for the indian industries to showcase their potential.
