over the past few years, there have been a lot of studies finding dangers in a chemical found in a lot of plastics. now, there is another study that can be added to them.a new study says when expectant mothers are exposed to these chemicals, called pthalates, during their first trimester, their baby boy may have an increased risk of fertility.pthalates are used in many products, mostly to soften plastics.it&39s found in wallpapers, medical tubing, flooring, personal care products, and even food packaging, which is how doctors say we get most of our exposure.while there is still research to be done, doctors say this is important to know so we can possibly change how we make products and packaging."people are trying to limit the contact in toys and in other things, and now it may be just time to look into how we package food and limit that exposure in that way," said dr. mary ann kroll of pediatric associates with united hospital center.doctors say while it is hard to completely avoid this chemical, it&39s important to be aware of it&39s presence
