israeli plastics company log has developed a fully biodegradable plastic bottle using corn starch polymer, reported israel national news.many other companies around the world have already created biodegradable plastics using other methods, but log took things a step further by also making the labels for the plastic water bottles out of corn starch polymer. the only part of the log bottles that are made of traditional oilbased plastic are the caps.log has teamed up with a local water company to produce 5,000 of the biodegradable water bottles to be presented at next week&39s plasto ispak plastics exhibition in tel aviv.if the new production method can be adopted on a large scale, it could do a lot to improve environmental impact, that is if israelis and others could be taught to bring their used biodegradable bottles to compost facilities.
