This year, Schreiner MediPharm is emphasizing the stringent requirements of novel active ingredients (APIs) and sustainability. The pharmaceutical expert will not only showcase its current product range but also offer solutions specifically tailored to the Chinese market.
Among these innovations is the Freeze-Light-Protect syringe label, designed for mRNA applications as well as cell and gene therapies. These novel APIs must be transported and stored at ultra-low temperatures, down to -100 °C, and often require special light protection. The Freeze-Light-Protect label reliably adheres to syringes even at extremely low temperatures and can be customized with various UV and light protection levels to suit the specific API.
Schreiner MediPharm’s new sustainable closure seals combine supply chain security with eco-friendliness, addressing two key concerns for the pharmaceutical industry. These sealing solutions are tailored to specific threat scenarios and secondary packaging requirements. The film material contains up to 90 percent recycled content, reducing emissions by up to 35 percent in terms of product carbon footprint (PCF), while maintaining the same transparency, printability, and reliability as conventional seals.
Another example of Schreiner MediPharm's sustainable products is Needle-Trap, a unique label with an integrated needle catcher. The plastic trap for securing the needle is made from up to 50 percent re-granulated material. Its compact design uses significantly less plastic than traditional needle protection systems and requires less space for transportation and storage. Additionally, a new feature allows for easy integration of a first-opening indication, eliminating the need for pharmaceutical manufacturers to use blister packs.
