treeson is natural spring water bottled in ecofriendly packaging that aims to do no less than save the planet.treeson is on a mission to save the planet by revolutionizing the bottled water business. currently fundraising through a kickstarter campaign, the water company aims to accomplish its lofty objective through all facets of the business. the water begins its journey at a natural spring in costa rica, the country where founder carlton solle was first inspired to find a solution to the vast amounts of plastic bottles polluting landfills and oceans. the water itself may not be that different from other natural spring waters, but the packaging makes giant strides towards improving sustainability.the plantbased, biodegradable bottles are modeled after the shape of leaves, serving both to echo the environmental mission and as a way to easily flatten and later recycle the containers. the labels are made from recycled products and even use soy ink, and beeswax for protection. after consumption, users are asked to flatten the bottle and send it back to treeson, where it will be processed using a unique system that creates clean energy, which is in turn used to make more bottles. a prepaid return label further encourages this behavior, and supports the usps, which treeson notes is the greenest fleet. finally, one tree is planted for every bottle sold.the venture is already four years in and the team has a working prototype, brand and production partners the kickstarter campaign, which has a month remaining, will provide the resources to launch the first production run. check out more details in the video below.source the dielineimages treeson kickstarter
