Able to count on a well organised in-country presence and recently having completed some major orders, Sacmi arrives at this Turkish fair with a full range of solutions for the steadily growing beverage industry, an industry always looking for ever-more complete, flexible and efficient technological solutions.
In 2015 Sacmi celebrated the twentieth anniversary of Sacmi Istanbul, a key player on a market strategically important for the Group's various businesses. The latter include Beverage & Closures, the ‘star’ of the coming edition of the international Drinkteg fair. The event, to be held from 4th to 6th February 2016 at the Istanbul Expo Center will, of course, see Sacmi exhibiting on its own 24-square-metre stand (Hall 10, E13).
One of the most promising in terms of both growing domestic consumption and the potential for export to Europe and Asia, the Turkish beverage market is experiencing growing demand for complete technological solutions on all fronts from filling to logistics. This stems from its absolute leadership position in certain segments (e.g. production of fruit juices and the like, 1 million litres a year) and constant growth in other drink-related fields (the mineral water bottling industry alone, which produced 608 million litres in 2014, could more than double volumes and turnover from the current 9 litres to 20 litres per person by 2020).
Sacmi provides integrated all-round solutions for the beverage industry and has recently completed some major sales in the closures sector where the compression technology incorporated in the CCM (continuous compression moulding) machine range is again proving to be the world’s most competitive in terms of productivity, flexibility and energy saving. Confirmation of that comes from the recent supply of 32 and 48-cavity CCM mineral water cap manufacturing presses in the Istanbul and Gaziantep areas (the latter is the largest urban and manufacturing district in Southeastern Anatolia).
These high-profile orders have boosted Turkey’s already fast-growing interest in Sacmi’s full range of beverage industry solutions, which span from filling to labelling, from preform/container production to end-of-line units. Indeed, some of the biggest sales made in Turkey concern the provision of innovative inspection systems, developed by the Automation & Service Division: these include the brand new CHS200 (capsule handling system) for the inspection of plastic caps and the CVS3000 DecoCap Color solution for direct in-line inspection of crown caps at rates of 5000 caps/min; the latter is a sector in which Sacmi has been the undisputed world leader for over 50 years.
