Formulated water based coatings contribute desirable surface properties to film, aluminum foil, and paper flexible packaging substrates. In addition they must be formulated to exhibit good processing characteristics and generally be acceptable for food contact applications. Examples of these formulated systems are heatseal coatings for films and aluminum foil, printreceptive primer coatings on films for conventional and uv inks, printreceptive primer coatings for hp indigo digital presses, slip control coatings for films, and barrier coatings for renewable substrates such as paper and pla film.
