Aldi has announced a major packaging change to all of its beer and cider products.
In an attempt to improve its environmental commitments, the budget supermarket chain said it will remove all plastic packaging from its own-label four-pack beers and ciders. The company said the move will help reduce plastic waste.
Instead, packaging will instead be fully recyclable at home, with Aldi saying the move could remove 95 tonnes of plastic packaging per year. It comes after the company made similar environmental pledges such as making its own-label handwash packaging fully recyclable in May while also removing its single-use cutlery from the Food To Go range in September.
