Frugalpac, a UK-based sustainable packaging leader, has signed a letter of intent with ITC Limited’s Packaging & Printing Business, South Asia's largest value-added packaging converter, to introduce its Frugal Bottles in India. This pioneering collaboration aims to decarbonize India’s $55 billion alcoholic beverage market by promoting paper bottles, eventually with plans to produce them locally.
The Frugal Bottle, crafted from 94% recycled paperboard and featuring a food-grade pouch, boasts an 84% lower carbon footprint and a water footprint four times lower than traditional glass bottles. The partnership, announced just ahead of ProWine Mumbai where Frugalpac will showcase its bottles and bottle-making machinery, underscores ITC's Sustainability 2.0 commitment to sustainable and circular packaging solutions.
Supported by the UK’s Department for Business and Trade, Frugalpac will display its innovative bottles at the "Britain is GREAT" stand at ProWine Mumbai, November 8-9, at the Jio World Convention Centre.
