Packaging and food service products maker Novolex has launched new recyclable food packaging containers made from a minimum of 10% post-consumer recycled (PCR) content.
The new products are being manufactured by Waddington North America (WNA), a Novolex brand.
They include tamper-evident containers, cake containers, dessert cups in a variety of sizes, and bakery clamshells.
The product line includes transparent Signature dessert cups, made with strong, lightweight and recyclable polyethylene terephthalate (PET).
It is available in three sizes and comes with a universal lid to improve dessert presentations, according to Novolex.
CakePak bases and lids are clear containers that are simple to open and seal. These have a patented EZ Release system that incorporates easy-to-use lift tabs. They are available in different bases to offer customisation and fit various cake designs.
The latest range also includes BreakAway tamper-evident containers that are designed to keep food safe and secure.
Available in various sizes and shapes, the BreakAway containers are stackable.
The last product on the list is the multi-use clamshell containers that offer the best product visibility and improve food presentation.
Suitable for loaf cakes and cookies, these products have a secure closure that provides a tight seal to keep food fresh.
Novolex rigid plastics director of technology Stephen Kapantais said: “We are proud to add to our growing number of products manufactured with recycled content.
“Sustainability is critical to the future of our industry, and we are committed to creating even more innovative products to reduce our impact on the environment and support the circular economy.”
Currently, Novolex has 56 manufacturing sites in North America and Europe, including two plastic film recycling facilities.
The company is engaged in the production of packaging products for grocery, food packaging, restaurants, retail, medical applications and building supplies sectors.
