Dresden, October 6th 2017 – Higher margin? With efficiency in post-press! The manufacturer KAMA is experiencing a boom in demand for the folder-gluer ProFold 74 with a wide range of applications for both job printing and packaging. “Compared to the previous year, the sales have increased by more than 50 percent in the first eight months of 2017”, says CEO Marcus Tralau.” Printers are recognising that there is a lot of potential in the folding and gluing machine - and that they can realise this potential and bring it in-house without great effort.” The increased demand comes from Germany, Western and Eastern European countries as well as from the USA, Asia and Australia.
New zigzag fold and new sheet feeder with quick adjustment
KAMA is constantly developing the modular-design ProFold 74. Now, the sheet feeder has been equipped with a quick adjustment for the draw-off belts. This reduces the set-up times considerably. Adjustable deck reels optimise the blank separation and the proper transfer to the transport module also for smaller blanks and products. Generally, the handling is simplified and the output quality is improved.
KAMA will be taking the ProFold 74 with the new sheet feeder and zigzag fold to IPEX 2017 (31/10 - 03/10) where you can see it in action on Friedheim International's stand F350. Visitors will be able to see live demonstrations and can speak to experts from both KAMA and Friedheim.
For packaging as well
The application range of the ProFold 74 also includes dispensing and Pick & Place of cards, adhesive tape, product samples etc. Using the Job-Planner software, the set-up is performed quickly and easily allowing repeat orders to be more readily available. In addition to folders, envelopes, folding cards and capacity products, the ProFold can also process jobs from packaging such as pillow boxes and folded cartons. Tralau: “This will open the door for our customers to new clients and the growing demand for digitally printed packages. Such a universal machine pays off quickly.”
