Preferred Packaging, a division of C-P Flexible Packaging, Launches New Sustainable GreenStream Pulp Trays at School Nutrition Association Conference

Preferred Packaging, a division of C-P Flexible Packaging, has expanded its GreenStream™ sustainable packaging portfolio with new molded pulp trays made from natural plant fibers. Designed for packaged meals, GreenStream™ plant fiber trays are freezer-safe, microwave-safe, and oven-safe. These plastic-free trays are also compostable and recyclable in municipalities with collection systems. The new trays are being introduced at the School Nutrition Association Annual National Conference in Orlando, Florida July 10-12, 2022.

Plastic cups & trays used for packaging exempted from ban

In a clarification issued on Thursday, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) said plastic cups and trays are used as packaging for protecting, preserving, storing, and transporting products as per the definition of plastic packaging given in the guidelines on EPR for plastic packaging, will be covered under the EPR guidelines.

Ardagh Glass Packaging partners with Kansas City Bier Company to supply all the brewery’s glass beer bottles

“It is important to us to reduce our impact on the environment where possible,” said Katie Camlin, Digital and Social Media Coordinator at Kansas City Bier Company. “Glass bottles are both reusable and recyclable, and working with Ardagh, a domestic manufacturer, reduces shipping distances greatly.”

In 2021, Kansas City Bier filled more than 2.6 million glass beer bottles, supplying fresh, local, German-style lagers and ales throughout Missouri and Kansas.

DS Smith offers its expertise to Carrefour for its XXL product range

A player committed to the circular economy and a major supplier of sustainable and recyclable packaging solutions; DS Smith France has collaborated with the Carrefour distributor to produce 3 large-format cardboard toys. Manufactured in 200,000 copies, they will be distributed from March 28 in all Carrefour brands (hypermarkets, supermarkets, and convenience stores) throughout France, as well as on Carrefour.fr.

Plastic Ban: Eco-friendly Brands Make Hay Out of Wood Products

Chuk, the flagship brand of Yash Pakka Limited, one of the pioneers in the sustainable packaging industry since the past 40 years, has seen about 50% year-on-year growth in terms of revenue. Anticipating a surge in demand since the draft notification of the ban was released by the government in March 2021, production was ramped up last October and 30% additional capacity was added to the production unit in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The production in FY2020-21 was 10 tonne per day, which was increased to 14 tonne per day in FY2021-22, a 40% increase in production on a per day basis.
