the american chemistry council acc has awarded innovation in plastics recycling awards 2012 to three topperforming us companies sony electronics kw plastics and safeplay systems. these selected companies were honored for their hard work to develop innovative processes or products by using postconsumer recycled plastics. kw plastics was recognized for its innovative integrated polypropylene packaging reprocessing system. this system overcomes the troubles experienced when handling the various melt flows, layers as well as additives in pp products. acc added that kw plastics also has broken new arena as the first domestic reprocessor to gather and recycle woven as well as nonwoven flexible pp. meanwhile, sony electronics won its award for developing sorplas. it is a material which contains 99 recycled polycarbonate, now generally used to make camera housings and other sony consumer products. sorplas encompasses 50 postconsumer recycled plastics and 50 postindustrial scrap from endoflife products. safeplay systems earned its innovation award for its ecoplay playground equipment line which is manufactured from postconsumer recycled hdpe. acc further adds that, ecoplay lumber contains minimum 95 postconsumer recycled plastic. to recover its products for recycling, safeplay also has its own recycling program. source of information httpwww.recyclinginternational.comrecyclingnews6771plasticandrubberunitedst…
