Ampacet&rsquos new masterbatch additive corrects the yellowbrown effect of rpet bottles .the rise in use of recycled pet rpet in consumer packaging has led to problems with bottle discoloration, an issue that ampacet plans to aggressively attack with a new additive that restores translucency. The industry is at a tipping point where rpet use will exceed 50 percent in many personal and household care containers over the next several years. But as rpet use expands, bottles are more likely to become yellowed or brown due to the use of a higher volume of recycled material. A discoloredlookng bottle can cause harm to a brand touting cleaning solutions, while the use of generic dies and pigments cannot control yellowing when higher amounts of rpet are used, ampacet is introducing blueedge formula x additives that brighten a bottle and change the yellow hue back to more natural blue. The masterbatch pellets can be fed into the throat of an extruder during blow molding. Because the solution uses no dies or pigments, it does not affect the recycling stream.
