Alongside a jam-packed schedule of speeches and seminars, delegates will have the opportunity to explore the very latest packaging innovations. The two-day event will also feature a ‘Sustainability Trail’, which aims to highlight the sector’s most inspiring suppliers operating at the cutting-edge of eco innovation.
On day one of the event, Tom Giddings, Alupro’s executive director, will join i2r for a seminar exploring aluminium’s sustainability credentials, how it can align with government directives and its significant value as a responsible packaging format. ‘Sustainability and Innovation in Aluminium Food Packaging’ will take place at 1.15pm in Keynote Theatre 5.
In comment, Giddings said: “We’re delighted to be joining i2r at this year’s Responsible Packaging Expo to help showcase the benefits of aluminium as a sustainable packaging material. The event offers the perfect platform to explore the innovations of tomorrow, while also discussing impending changes to legislation and policy.
“When it comes to food packaging, aluminium should be seen as the flexible, versatile, reliable material of choice. Alongside offering superior properties from a product protection and preservation perspective, it can also be infinitely recycled – the perfect closed loop solution. As brands continue to navigate the ever-changing legislative landscape, we want everyone to know that aluminium is the material of choice for those brands looking to avoid risks and maximise value.”
