Amcor ,a global leader in responsible packaging solutions, and AVON, a pioneer in cosmetics, skincare, and personal care with a 135-year history, have announced the launch of the AmPrima™ Plus refill pouch for AVON's Little Black Dress classic shower gels in China. This recycle-ready packaging will significantly reduce the carbon footprint by 83%, water consumption by 88%, and renewable energy use by 79% when recycled.
Aligned with AVON’s goal of using 100% reusable, recyclable, or compostable packaging by 2030, Amcor’s research and development teams collaborated with AVON to create their first refill pouch using recycle-ready material. The AmPrima refill pouch offers a more sustainable packaging solution while maintaining the barrier properties, stiffness, graphics performance, and run speeds of non-recyclable alternatives, along with consumer convenience.
“Amcor’s AmPrima product range supports major brands like AVON in achieving their sustainability targets,” said Roawin Luo, Global Director of Product Management at Amcor. “We are proud to deliver a recycle-ready solution that enhances the functionality and appeal of AVON's iconic brand.”
AVON has also committed to using 50% recycled content by 2030 for all plastic by weight and supporting collection schemes in key markets. Abby Deng, Marketing Head of AVON China, stated, “Our collaboration with Amcor is transformative. By integrating a refill format with recycle-ready film material, we’ve created an innovative refill pack for our AVON Little Black Dress shower gels. This partnership marks a milestone in our sustainability and innovation journey, allowing consumers to enjoy our high-quality products while supporting a more environmentally friendly future.”
The 350ml refill pack for AVON’s Little Black Dress classic shower gel is now available in China. AVON and Amcor are also working on a Shimmer Shower gel launch later this year and other planned recycle-ready solutions.
