Berry Global and T2 Unveil Game-Changing PE Bags with 50% Recycled Plastic
In a remarkable step toward sustainable innovation, Berry Global and T2 Maschinenbau have joined forces to redefine packaging possibilities. Together, they have developed PE bags containing 50% recycled plastic, made using Berry’s cutting-edge Sustane™ Recycled Content. This collaboration highlights a shared vision for reducing environmental impact while delivering exceptional performance and visual appeal.
The partnership was unveiled at Fachpack 2024, where T2 showcased their advanced Vertical Form Fill Seal (VFFS) packaging machine in action. Equipped with an integrated double belt scale, the machine ran Berry’s innovative Single Wound Sheet (SWS) films seamlessly, proving that high-speed automation and sustainability can go hand in hand.
Sustainable Packaging Meets Advanced Design
Berry’s SWS films set a new standard in eco-friendly packaging. Incorporating 50% recycled content, the films are engineered to be both durable and visually stunning. With exceptional clarity and depth, the films offer a premium surface for branding, supporting up to ten-color photographic prints that amplify shelf appeal.
"Our SWS films with Sustane Recycled Content are designed to meet the demands of modern packaging systems while providing a more sustainable option. They ensure efficiency on high-speed filling lines and deliver an excellent branding platform," said Elke Kellermann, Sales Manager at Berry.
Broad Applications and Industry Impact
The innovation is tailored for diverse industries, including agriculture, horticulture, chemicals, construction, and industrial products. By combining Berry’s sustainable materials with T2’s precision engineering, the collaboration showcases how next-generation packaging can serve both business and environmental goals.
T2 Maschinenbau demonstrated how their VFFS machines, optimized for high-speed and efficient operations, can support sustainable packaging films, opening the door for widespread industry adoption of greener solutions.
A Leap Toward the Circular Economy
This partnership reflects a pivotal moment for the packaging industry, where sustainability and innovation merge to deliver powerful solutions. By creating PE bags that reduce virgin plastic usage while maintaining quality and efficiency, Berry Global and T2 are driving the transition to a circular economy.
Their efforts are a testament to the potential of collaboration in tackling global environmental challenges while meeting the high standards of modern packaging needs. This groundbreaking initiative signals the future of packaging—a future that is sustainable, efficient, and innovative.
