made from impulsedried wood fibers, the &ldquogreen fiber bottle&rdquo is a groundbreaking innovation and currently under development in a partnership between carlsberg group and partners ecoxpac, technical university of denmark and innovation fund denmark. the project commenced in january 2015 and it is expected to take three years to develop the final product. when asked&39whether the green fiber bottle would be better for the environment than e.g. refillable glass bottles that can be used over and over&39, csr director simon boas hoffmeyer replied "first of all, it will be made from renewable materials biobased, which means that it will not run out, if sourced sustainably. secondly, if it should happen, that the bottles are not collected after use, the fact that it is biodegradable will act as a built in failsafe mechanism ensuring, that the bottle decomposes to soil" the picture shows "green fiber bottle prototype" with the current carlsberg glass profile bottles. the prototype showing that will be possible to create fiber bottles with embossment similar to what we have on glass bottles today.the final design of the bottle won&39t be plain white like this, but include iconic carlsberg colours and branding
