the 5,000sqm facility in fareham, which was built last year to replace two sites in portsmouth, is now fully operational and is running a combination of b2 and b3 presses. while the facility already has around 25 higher capacity than the two it replaces, the company, which spun out of nampak europe in december 2010, is planning further expansion. bill thomas, operations manager at contego packaging portsmouth pictured, said &ldquothis move has brought all the different functions of our operation under one roof making for more effective production. &ldquoit also allows room for future expansion, including the installation of further new technology. &ldquothe relocation has been very professionally and successfully handled, so much so that we have received comments from some of our customers who were not even aware that it was happening &ldquoit is a great tribute to our loyal team, 100 in total, who have moved with us and have delivered a high quality uninterrupted service to customers&rdquo. the facility produces cartons for the healthcare and pharmaceutical sector and is part of the £250mturnover paneuropean contego packaging group.
