Coveris said that the product targets the European food-on-the-move sector and is an evolution of Coveris’ peelable and separable RecyclaPEel sandwich skillet made from cartonboard and PE liner components.
According to Coveris, the design of RecyclaPEel MAP enables the lined corners to form a tight gas seal. When packed using a gas-flush process, the tight seal retains control of pack atmosphere over the lifecycle of the product, extending shelf life “significantly beyond the four days achieved with Coveris’ lined board skillets typically used in the UK market”.
Will Mercer, Coveris’ graphics, label and board R&D director, said: “FachPack is the perfect opportunity to launch our new RecyclaPEel MAP sandwich skillet. Targeting the European food-on-the-move market, RecyclaPEel MAP is Coveris’ extended life sandwich skillet meeting longer shelf life demands in the European food-on-the-move market. Aligned with Coveris’ vision for No Waste, including products and packaging, our innovative RecyclaPEel MAP is a fully recyclable, forward thinking pack for the future of food-on-the-move in Europe.”
