Desi Pak® ECO desiccant packets are a specially designed moisture adsorbing solution focused on sourcing raw materials, and transportation packaging, with a lower environmental impact. They contain granulated bentonite clay that is highly adsorbent, naturally occurring, and responsibly mined. Packaging consists of plastic-free, bio-based paper. Desi Pak ECO carries the Clariant EcoTain® label for products with outstanding sustainability advantages.

Sustainability
Unlike silica gel, which is manufactured in a carbon- and energy-intensive process, the bentonite clay used in Desi Pak ECO is extracted through surface mining and merely requires granulation, drying, and grading prior to packaging and use. The bentonite clay is naturally occurring and globally available, helping assure an uninterrupted supply and reducing the carbon footprint associated with transportation.
All Desi Pak bentonite clay are sourced by Clariant. The mining process begins with the exploration needed to identify and acquire top-grade bentonite clay deposits, through to the mining (extraction) process, and even to the reclamation/restoration process for areas where our mining is complete. Our commitment to ecological sustainability is clear: Clariant will restore and recultivate all bentonite mining areas to an equal or better state than when our operations began.
The bio-based paper and the water-based ink and adhesive used for packaging complement the active clay making Desi Pak ECO a sustainable alternative with fewer environmental impacts than synthetic desiccant in plastic packaging.
