A collaborative venture between film maker innovia and printedcircuit manufacturer pragmatic printing has led to new electronics technology on package labels. The companies have been demonstrating a bottle label in that triggers a rotating series of flashing lights when the container is held, a device meant to attract consumer interest.
The integrated circuit board can be embedded into labels using biaxially oriented polypropylene bopp from innovia. Yet, the companies hope the use of printed circuit technology in bopp film becomes a highervolume proposition for some brands.
