Two years of work, a dedicated team of highly specialized mechatronics engineers, and a new Hub dedicated to research, all these have given life to the Greenpackt project: a green pact between technology and environment to make the packaging industry 100% sustainable, and that makes Fameccanica a pioneering company in the industrialization and automation of the production of sustainable packaging for unit dose detergent products, and thus able to offer our clients the opportunity to have an integrated system, both machine and packaging together at the same time.
"Today, with Greenpackt, we are positioning ourselves as pioneers in proposing a patented system, an integrated machine-product solution, which involves the entire supply chain, from the selection of raw materials to their processing - said CEO Alessandro Bulfon - Greenpackt opens a green door for the future in an unattended strategic market, offering more ecological, ethical, and sustainable opportunities. By developing it thanks to our know-how, we have been able to respond to an important market demand, as confirmed by the negotiations, already in place, with the main players, both Italian and international."
The decision to use recyclable or biodegradable materials for the Greenpackt system also stems from the desire to make an effective contribution to the fight against plastic pollution: currently, only 9% of the plastic produced is recycled globally (Source OECD), while at least 22% pollutes our terrestrial and marine environments by contaminating their resources. It is estimated that as many as 12 million tonnes of plastic are dumped into the sea every year (Source iucn.org). Plastic unit dose packs contribute to this with 416 million units a year, equaling 31.200 tons of plastic waste with an environmental impact of about 97.000 tons CO2 in equivalence.
