adhesives, sealants and functional coatings solution provider henkel adhesive technologies has launched the henkel flexible packaging academy in mumbai, india.while this is henkel&39s third academy globally, it is the company&39s first in india, middle east and africa imea region.the academy, in association with institute of packaging iip will provide training for professionals from the flexible packaging industry.entrepreneurs, production managers, supervisors, operators and quality control professionals of the flexible packaging industry will be provided with formal training on lamination technology.based on the principle of &39learning by doing&39, the training will be a combination of essential theoretical knowledge and handson practical training.all aspects of flexible packaging lamination techniques will be covered in the training modules through practical experience on commercial scale nexus dual lamination machine and the key highlights will be the methods of producing foodsafe laminates and troubleshooting.speaking about the center, henkel flexible packaging adhesives global head ralf grauel said "with the dynamic packaging trends in different segments like fmcg, f&b, pharma, etc., there is a growing demand of advanced packaging solutions."the conventional materials have been replaced with flexible packaging materials. addressing these demands, we have introduced henkel flexible packaging academy to train manufacturers to fulfill the demands of the growing industry."the sessions that will be conducted by a team of experts from across the world including inhouse technical team of henkel will include topics on printing, lamination, finished product testing, different substrates, their properties and material handling to avoid curling, tunneling and wrinkling.the certification of the process will be jointly issued by henkel and indian institute of packaging iip.it comprise two stages participation certificate that will be awarded after completing a five day training program and completion certificate that will be awarded after three months of reviewing the participant&39s performance on shop floor post training.
