Paulig has been investing in new packaging lines at CarbonNeutral® certified Vuosaari Roastery. Starting from this spring, one third of 500-gram coffee packaging units will be produced on a new line at the roastery. Coffee packages that are manufactured on the new packaging line are easy to open without scissors as before. In addition, the new, longer resealing tape helps to reseal the coffee packaging.
Recyclable coffee packing supports Paulig's goal to have all packaging recyclable by the end of 2025.
"Most of our coffees are sold in vacuum packaging. The launch of the recyclable coffee packaging will help us to achieve our ambitious sustainability goals", says Kati Randell, R&D Manager for packaging at Paulig. She continues:
"As a frontrunner in sustainability, we are now one of the first coffee companies in the world to bring the easy-open recyclable vacuum packaging to coffee lovers. Recyclable vacuum packaging has been developed for many years. It has required research and development, investments into our production and over 100 tests by both us and our partners.”
Recyclable Paulig coffee packaging available in Finland and Estonia
The new Paulig recyclable vacuum packaging will be available to consumers in Finland and Estonia from this spring onwards on a few of Paulig's products, such as Paulig Mundo Original and Paulig Café New York vacuum packaging.
The new packaging is recognizable by the white inside and can still be sorted for plastic collection. From the outside, the packaging looks the same as before.
