In operating rooms hygiene is of paramount importance. This particularly applies to suture threads. A new label by schreiner medipharm now makes sterile packaging of these hightech threads more efficient. Multwqc suture threads require permanent sterile packaging to ensure that they will not pose any risk to the patient&rsquos health. To reliably disinfect the suture threads, the contents of the packaging are sterilized using ethylene oxide. Prior to sealing the pack, a &ldquosterilization window&rdquo is applied to a precut opening. During the sterilization process gaseous ethylene oxide is introduced into the pack through this gaspermeable window label and subsequently evacuated again. The label with an integrated membrane which schreiner medipharm has developed for this purpose combines maximum sterilization reliability with enhanced manufacturing efficiency.the membrane label has no adhesive in the window area of the pack. The dispensing process is fast and precise. The suture threads are economically packaged and reliably sterilized. In the final process step, the packaging part including the membrane label is first welded and then separated. This ensures sterile storage of the threads inside aluminum composite.
