laminate tube with braille, manufactured by tubapack, a.s. in iarnadhronom, has got in a world competition worldstar for packaging. this is an award given for packaging excellence. this award ceremony is organized annually by world packaging organisation wpo. it is the world biggest institution dealing with packaging industry and materials. the results were announced in dusseldorf germany. the announcement was done during the international trade fair interpack. in contest of 278 products, from many globally popular packaging producers from different 30 nations, the laminate tube with braille was given the "basic" award. the same award was given to 135 products. out of these 135 product winners, the president of the wpo has chosen 5 finalists for special prize president award for their uniqueness, originality and social profitability. out of the awards gold star, silver and bronze, slovak product was honoured with the gold woldstar award &ndash the most prestigious one. in history of this highstatus "packaging" award, for the first time ever, the czech or slovak nomination was transformed in the award itself, even the uppermost one. mutually with representatives from tubapack, a.s. was the honour taken by the company representatives colognia press, a.s., which was extremely close collaborationist throughout the creation of the laminate tube with braille. previous year, invention form tubapack was showcased to the world contest on the basis of the success in the last year national czech contest with worldwide attendance, where it won the award "obal roka 2010". mr. richard pittner, mba, is the general director of the tubapack, a.s. he mentioned that their unwritten motto is you don&39t need to be the biggest, to by the best. he says that their slogan was confirmed with these rewards and regarding the fact, that they really don&rsquot belong to the biggest manufacturers of the tubes, they were extremely pleased with this renowned success. he further mentioned that they are attempting to show, in the first place to their customers, that they can be the best even through innovation and development. he thinks that their tube with braille impressed the international judges particularly with its social aspect, since it considerably enhances using mainly of pharmaceutical products in laminate tubes by partially sighted and blind people. in september 2009, the first tubes with braille were delivered by tubapack, a.s. the manufacturing was preceded by a modernization process including numerous production trial and test deliveries tested frankly by the customers, to fulfil their needs. the excellence of the braille, its good intelligibility and readability was demonstrated by the slovak blind and partially sighted union. mostly, laminate tubes with braille are used for pharmaceutical creams, ointments and pastes. on the other hand, there is an assumption, that the braille will be steadily applied for tubes in several other industry sectors, such as food, cosmetics or chemicals. company tubapack, a.s., in iarnadhronom that belongs to the group of companies of iarskahutníckaspolonos &ndash iar&39s metallurgical company which is commonly known as hs, a.s., is longtime manufacturer of laminate and aluminium tubes. in 1973, the first tubes were produced. throughout the last 5 years, important advancements of production management, working environment and technology was made. a spanking new production line for aluminium tubes will be installed soon. with financial support from european regional development fund erdf, this project is realized&ndash the name of the operational program is "competitiveness and economic growth". almost 7 million eur has been invested in this project so far. source of information httpwww.tubapack.skgbpress4.htm
