"Sustainable Drinks Producer Broadland Drinks Partners with Frugalpac for Mass Volume Filling of Low Carbon Paper Bottles in the UK"
Leading sustainable drinks producer and co-packer, Broadland Drinks, is set to become the UK's largest filler of Frugal Bottles, the environmentally friendly paper wine and spirits containers, through a milestone partnership with Journey’s End and British sustainable packaging company Frugalpac. This partnership will enable a significant increase in the volume of Frugal Bottles available in the UK retail and on-trade sectors, contributing to the decarbonization of the drinks industry supply chain.
Interpunkt wines, in collaboration with Journey’s End Vineyards, have already secured listings at All Bar One and Stonegate and Castle pubs. This expansion will allow Journey’s End to introduce Interpunkt wines in Frugal Bottles to a wider UK audience.
The growing demand for sustainable packaging is evident, with a recent poll of nearly 2,500 wine merchants and producers by ProWein indicating that 29% of UK traders plan to offer paper wine bottles in their stores within the next two years.
Frugal Bottles, known for their eco-friendliness, are currently produced by Frugalpac in Ipswich and are composed of 94% recycled paperboard. Weighing only 83g and featuring a food-grade liner, they are five times lighter than glass bottles and have an 84% lower carbon footprint compared to glass. Additionally, their 360° branding offers remarkable shelf presence.
Since 2020, over 35 different drinks producers from around the world have launched 128 different SKUs of wines, spirits, and olive oils in the Frugal Bottle.
Broadland Drinks, headquartered in Norfolk, has been at the forefront of cutting-edge sustainable drinks production and packaging filling.
