italian packaging machinery giant marchesini group registered an 11 increase in turnover in 2014, reaching &euro247m £185m.while the italian economy has a negative gdp figure of 0.4, marchesini has flourished in a buoyant pharmaceutical sector &ndash which grew by 14 in 2013.the group&rsquos performance in gathering orders rose 15 &ndash from 189 million two years ago to 217 million last year.this rise in orders is largely due to an increased demand for aseptic packaging machinery for anticancer drugs, one of the fastest growing sectors of recent years.additionally, investment has continued with building work carpi where the group&rsquos production division of machines for blister packaging and deepdraw thermoforming is located.marchesini claims this project will create the biggest thermoforming centre in italy, covering 12,000m2 through the &euro15m £11m.maurizio marchesini, marchesini group chief executive, said &ldquowe are delighted with these results because our expectations of growth for 2014 were exact and also because the future looks thriving. a business leader could be halted by fear in a critical historical time, as is the present one, but the best way out is to explore new markets and to invest in people, in their personal and professional growth. these are the challenges we want to be ready for.&rdquo
