Award-winning Australian beverage brand Mother of Pearl Vodka has revealed plans to acquire Australia’s inaugural paper bottle machine from Frugalpac. This move aims to aid wines and spirits brands across Australasia and Southeast Asia in reducing their bottle carbon footprint by 84%. Mother of Pearl Vodka, known for its IWSC award-winning grape-based vodka sold in Frugal Bottles, has penned a letter of intent with Frugalpac to procure their Frugal Bottle Assembly Machine. These paper bottles, made from 94% recycled cardboard, are significantly lighter and boast a carbon footprint six times lower than glass counterparts. The announcement was made at the Austrade 'G'Day By The Bay' event in Singapore, where Mother of Pearl Vodka showcased its commitment to sustainability alongside Qantas Airways. They served vodka martinis from a cardboard cocktail bar and introduced a gin variant in a Frugal Bottle at the event. With the ability to produce up to 2.5 million paper bottles annually, Mother of Pearl Vodka plans to extend its eco-friendly packaging to other drinks brands. Co-founders Nic Hancock and Nicola Thompson Hancock emphasized the importance of sustainability and their desire to lead the transition to greener packaging in the region.
