&bulla team of scientists from the institute of materials science of seville csicuniversity of sevilla and the university of malaga in spain, have developed a new material from the skin of the tomato, intended to coat the inside of preserved cans.&bulldeveloped a biodegradable material from plant cutin, a polymer derived from tomato skin and allows coating the interior of all kinds of containers for preserving food or refreshments.&bullexperts have demonstrated the effectiveness of this new material in both cans of soda or beer and food packaging.&bullonce developed from plant cutin, they verified its effectiveness applying it identical to those commonly employed in sheet metal containers.
