Shizuoka sangyo and hypertech japan have developed air flower bag, a waterretaining bag for shipping cut flowers. The product uses a twolayer air cushioning developed by hypertech japan. The user puts water in the outer bag followed by the bundle of cut flowers, and then blows air into the inner bag through an opening to hold the stems in position. The package then goes into a corrugated fiberboard box. The product prevents water leakage as well as excess moisture for the flowers and leaves so they stay fresh longer. The air in the inner bag cushions the flowers in transit.
