GOEBEL IMS showcases its comprehensive portfolio of slitter rewinders guaranteeing high-quality processing for the paper industry at drupa
The paper and print industries are undergoing vast changes – new technologies are continuously developed due to increased requirements and complexity of the markets. To meet these challenges, it is important to pay attention to all steps of the production process, including manufacturing, printing but also processing of the products. The right slitting and winding solution for converting mother rolls into finished rolls is decisive for the quality and value of the end-product. Therefore, GOEBEL IMS will showcase its entire range of highly-advanced, innovative slitter rewinders for specialty and standard papers, technical papers, board and aseptic packaging materials at this year’s drupa from May 31 to June 10 in Düsseldorf. At the world’s top trade fair for print and cross-media solutions GOEBEL IMS will be exhibiting one of its top sellers, the slitter rewinder T 2. The slitter rewinders RA 2 and OPTISLIT were developed especially for converting technical and pressure- and surface-sensitive papers.
T 2 offers maximum productivity and high-quality processing of specialty, standard and aseptic packaging papers
The slitter rewinders in the T 2 series, also well-known as AP 22 in the aseptic packaging industry, offer maximum productivity. These slitter rewinders from GOEBEL IMS are particularly suitable for converting specialty and standard papers, coated and uncoated papers, board and aseptic packaging papers. They offer the industry’s best price-performance ratio for converting solutions. The basic model of the T 2 features a top winding quality at a working width of up to 2,200 mm, a rewind diameter of up to 1,800 mm and an unwind diameter of up to 2,500 mm. The unique slitting concept guarantees outstanding roll separation. The T 2 enables conversion speeds of up to 1,200 m/min. All machines of this series work with a single-shaft center-driven winding concept equipped with an idle lay-on roller. They can be used as bi-directional inspection rewinders for repairing telescoped or damaged rolls as well as detecting defections.
GOEBEL IMS offers a wide range of equipment options with many different automation features. Thanks to its ergonomic and flexible design, the T 2 can be adapted to individual customer needs and specific requirements with a large choice of options. A fully-automatic version is available with a variety of additional features, for example a handling and conveyor system for improved unloading and transport, thereby significantly increasing the productivity and efficiency of the production process. In addition, the slitter rewinders in the T 2 series can also be equipped with a customized splice table, automatic knife positioning, double unwinder for a fast change of mother rolls as well as automatic unloading and roll transport systems. In addition, an oil-free version (without any hydraulic function) is available.
RA 2 especially for converting technical papers
For the converting of technical papers GOEBEL IMS offers the RA 2. This slitter rewinder was developed especially for pressure-sensitive or coated materials, such as siliconized papers. The unique winding concept prevents the paper’s surface from being damaged during conversion – thanks to a center winder that uses non-driven contact rollers to generate consistent web tension. Automation components for roll handling, labeling and palletizing are available on request. Offering maximum productivity, outstanding quality and a top level of process automation, the RA 2 is one of the highest-performing machines in its field.
OPTISLIT for converting pressure-sensitive and surface-sensitive papers
The OPTISLIT is a special machine for converting pressure-sensitive and surface-sensitive papers, such as thermal papers. This slitter rewinder and winding machine with center winding allows the contact pressure and web tension to be set with extreme precision, guaranteeing premium quality of the finished rolls. The OPTISLIT is ideal for manufacturing both large rolls with shaftless winding and narrow rolls with block winding on rewind shafts. With a working width of up to 5,000 mm, a rewind diameter of up to 1,650 mm and a running speed of up to 2,500 m/min, it ensures maximum productivity and quality in paper production.
