The &ldquogerman packaging institute&rdquo dvi has now conferred the german packaging award to the packaging machine manufacturer oystar hassia in the category of &ldquomechanical engineering.&rdquo the award was presented for a newly developed swirl dosing device for aseptic form fill seal machine for cups. With the aid of the new dosing device, pasty products are filled in vertical motion with simultaneous rotation of the filling device. Thus numerous product variants can be manufactured &ndash for example, in addition to swirled puddings, variations that feature toppings or doublelayered products as well.
Along the lines of kinematics reversal &ndash in contrast to the solutions known thus far &ndash rotation of the actual cups is no longer required. This makes it possible for the first time to not only create this product shape on thermoforming machines, but also to operate 32 dosing heads at the same time and make use of the benefits offered by the servomotor drive. &ldquoinnovations are not an end in itself at oystar,
they have a clear aim &ndash namely, to enhance our customer&rsquos competitiveness,&rdquo explains markus ehl, coo of the oystar group. &ldquowe are very glad all the more to be presented with such a prestigious award for having achieved this aim.&rdquo the german packaging award has been conferred by dvi since 1963 and was presented for the 34th time this year. The jury of recognized experts nominated 54 packaging concepts in seven categories altogether. The winners were announced on november 9th as part of braubeviale in nuremberg.
