A uniquely shaped metal can jointly designed and manufactured by Ardagh has been used for the recent launch by Mead Johnson of its Enfinitas infant nutrition product for the Asian market.
The shaped design is unique for a metal can in this market segment. It is formed through a process called “mechanical expansion”, where the top and base of the can are expanded, whilst the middle waist section retains its original size. The can is sealed with a tamper-evident Easy Peel® opening solution, specifically embossed with the Mead Johnson logo.

For this project, together with our R&D Centre in Crosmières, France, we aimed to create a truly distinctive packaging that would achieve clear differentiation, convienence and impactful shelf standout.“
The shaped can is produced at Ardagh’s production facility in Hoogeveen, the Netherlands, Ardagh’s biggest dedicated Nutrition metal packaging plant with the highest hygienic standards and certified to BRC/IoP global packaging standards.
