XAAR’S ULTRA HIGH VISCOSITY TECHNOLOGY ENABLES MARABU’S ‘GAME-CHANGING’ INK DEVELOPMENTS

Leading printhead manufacturer, Xaar is enabling the production of ‘game-changing’ digital inks due to its Ultra High Viscosity Technology, according to global ink manufacturer, Marabu.
Ultra High Viscosity Technology is providing manufacturers with an array of new and practical production possibilities by enabling a much wider range of fluid viscosities and chemistries to be printed at around 100 centipoises (cP) at jetting temperature, equating to approximately 1000cP at ambient temperature.

Xeikon and Sappi partner for resource-saving packaging

Sappi is a manufacturer of flexible packaging papers with integrated barriers and heat-seal capability. Xeikon develops digital printing engines, both toner-based and inkjet, for a variety of packaging applications. One of its latest developments is Titon, a new toner formulation responding to sustainability trends in packaging, and claimed to offer, ‘all the benefits of UV inks without the disadvantages.’ Specifically, this sees the combination of the food-safe and odourless properties of dry toner with the special resistance to chemicals and mechanical abrasion of UV inkjet ink.

Paptic, Woamy and Secto Design collaborate on recyclable packaging for lights and lamps

Secto Design, a specialist in modern hand-made design lamps, is transitioning its Petite product line’s packaging from fossil-based materials to recyclable and circular packaging developed by Paptic and Woamy. 

 

The lighting’s plastic hoods will be replaced with renewable and recyclable Paptic material, while the plastic foams protecting metal parts during transportation will be substituted with fully bio-based, biodegradable and recyclable wood foam produced by Woamy.
