Amcor, a global leader in responsible packaging solutions, is thrilled to announce the latest edition of its Amcor Lift-Off initiative. This open-call program aims to support early-stage start-ups focused on groundbreaking packaging solutions and associated technologies.
Winners of the Amcor Lift-Off initiative will receive substantial financial investments—$250,000 for early-stage start-ups and up to $500,000 for growth-stage start-ups. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to connect with senior Amcor leaders and benefit from Amcor’s extensive internal and external networks.
This year, applicants are invited to present their innovative ideas in three key areas:
- Paper-Based Packaging Solutions: Innovations in substrates and high-barrier solutions for primary packaging in food, beverages, and pharmaceuticals.
- AI in Manufacturing: Solutions that optimize manufacturing processes using machine learning, including networks of production sites and predictive maintenance.
- New Business Models Beyond Packaging: Innovations leveraging technologies used in the converting process, such as high-barrier films, vacuum deposition, and printing.
“As a global packaging leader, we have the power to shape the future of packaging by sharing our expertise and network with the best early-stage innovators,” said Frank Lehmann, Vice President of Corporate Venturing and Open Innovation at Amcor. “Through Amcor’s Lift-Off program, we have the opportunity to scale and enhance the impact of these emerging technologies, leading to more sustainable outcomes for all.”
Past winners of the Lift-Off program have delivered a range of pioneering technologies, including Nfinite Nanotechnology's nanocoating technology, Bloom Biorenewables' conversion of plant waste to chemicals, circulations smart reusable packaging, and Greyparrot's AI-powered waste recognition system.
