Gulf Oil Lubricants India Limited has relaunched its flagship two-wheeler engine oil, Gulf Pride, featuring updated packaging and an enhanced formula. The company has also introduced a 360-degree marketing campaign to support the launch, with cricketer MS Dhoni continuing as brand ambassador.
According to Gulf Oil, the upgraded Gulf Pride now meets the latest API SP specifications and is designed to offer up to a 10,000 km drain interval. The company also claims improved engine protection and consistent pick-up, aimed at providing a smoother riding experience for two-wheeler users.
The campaign, launched alongside the product update, centers around the long-term bond between bikers and their motorcycles. A television commercial directed by filmmaker Punit Malhotra and produced by Dharma 2.0 features MS Dhoni in a narrative that highlights this relationship. The ad draws parallels between Dhoni’s personal interest in motorcycles and the everyday rider’s experience.
Speaking about the campaign, MS Dhoni said his association with Gulf Oil has been long and meaningful. He noted the importance of consistent performance and reliability in engine oil for riders. “Gulf Pride helps in keeping the engine smooth and the pick-up strong,” he said.
The campaign will be rolled out across multiple platforms including television, digital media, and retail locations. Gulf Oil is also planning trade engagement programs and mechanic outreach initiatives to reinforce the product’s presence in key markets.
Gulf Pride has been a well-known brand in the two-wheeler engine oil segment. With this update, the company aims to strengthen its position by offering enhanced engine protection and performance features, supported by refreshed packaging that reflects its revised identity.
