The firms worked closely with danish brandowner toms confectionery, to create the packaging for its sweet moments line. Lpf was charged with producing gravureprinted and laminated bags with a matt effect and a transparent window to show the chocolates inside while cathaensel used its speciallydeveloped strip aluminium wrappers to package individual chocolates. The wrappers were gravureprinted on a metallised polypropylene film with a waxlaminated aluminium strip, using a singlelayer material. Michael pfingsten, sales manager at clondalkin group&rsquos laminated & coated products unit, said &ldquothe strip aluminium twistwrappers produced by catshaensel, based on a polypropylene film with a wax laminated aluminium strip, turned out to be a differentiating feature for anthon berg. &ldquoinstead of using two layers of material, this specification allowed anthon berg to go for just one layer while at the same time improving machine
Performance, saving costs and optimising brand appearance.&rdquo jill bech andersen, strategic purchaser at toms confectionery, added &ldquosweet moments is a premium product and we were looking to work with a packaging supplier with particular expertise in highend confectionery markets. &ldquowe have been successfully working together with lpf for a couple of years now and the choice for clondalkin group was made even easier when we met catshaensel and learned about its strip aluminium foil.
