mondi launches a new industrial sack paper which is to protect the contents from weather and prolong its shelf life. the hybridpro consists of a combination of paper and plastic and is suitable for various industries and applications, in particular for building materials. the inner ply is made of 120 gm2 mondi advantage one sack kraft paper the outer ply is a 40 µmthick layer of highdensity polyethylene hdpe.the paper layer provides mondi in a bleached or unbleached a variant. the plastic and paper components can be separated for an environmentally friendly disposal. the hybridprobag can be processed on conventional paper sackfilling systems and filled at temperatures of up to 90°c. the hybridpro is also suitable for highspeed filling, the vent is done twice as fast as with a threelayer standard bag. the innovation is that the nonperforated hdpe forms a protective layer on the outer surface of bag. although there were other bags that combine paper with plastic, but not in this particular way. the advantage of the bags an outdoor storage for a long period and a prolonged shelf life is made possible because the bag protects the contents against direct rain and a gradual penetration of moisture during outdoor.the hdpe film can, including the bag bottom, be printed in up to eight brilliant colors. according to the producers of building materials knauf, who was involved in the development of the sack, gypsum can be stored in hybridpro eight months outdoors twice as long as in a conventional paper bag.
