Nescafé is introducing its first-ever paper refill pack for Nescafé Gold Blend, designed to be easily recycled through kerbside collection. This innovative packaging reduces the weight of packaging materials by an impressive 97% compared to the traditional 200g glass coffee jars.
Created with sustainability and convenience in mind, the paper refill pack allows consumers to refill their glass jars, extending the life of the jars while maintaining the same rich aroma and great taste Nescafé is known for. Once the refill pack is used, it can be recycled through regular kerbside recycling services.
Ingrid Hayes, Marketing Director of Nescafé Soluble Coffee at Nestlé UK & Ireland, shared her excitement about this new initiative: "We are thrilled to introduce Nescafé's first paper refill pack, representing a positive step towards our sustainability goals. Nescafé is committed to driving positive change and offering more sustainable choices while continuing to deliver the iconic rich aroma that people love."
The 150g paper refill packs will be available exclusively at Tesco stores from this week. This launch follows Nescafé’s successful introduction of recyclable in-store refill pouches in 2022 and demonstrates the brand's ongoing commitment to sustainable packaging and Nestlé’s broader goal of reducing its use of virgin plastic by one third by 2025.
Beyond its packaging innovations, Nescafé is also focused on improving the sustainability of coffee farming. All coffee used in Nescafé products produced in the UK is 100% responsibly sourced, ensuring that every cup of Nescafé coffee contributes to making a positive impact.
