Tentoma Packaging Solutions has launched a new vacuum unit that effectively collects film snippets from their RoRo StretchPack® packaging machines. With the new vacuum unit, film snippets can be collected in any container that can be placed independently of the packaging machine. The vacuum unit ensures stable operation of the packaging line by efficiently removing excess film snippets, enabling high-speed wrapping.
Neat packaging and sustainability
To achieve visually appealing and uniform packaging, many companies choose to trim the film ends when products are wrapped on their RoRo StretchPack® packaging machine. Collecting the trimmed film snippets is crucial for ensuring stable and neat packaging, especially at high wrapping speeds. Additionally, it improves sustainability on the packaging line, as the collected film snippets can be sent for recycling. Until now, Tentoma has only been able to offer one type of vacuum unit, which collects the trimmed film snippets in an integrated standard container. With the new vacuum unit, film snippets can now be collected in any container of the customer's choice, and it can be placed independently of the vacuum unit and the packaging machine.
Two types of vacuum units are available
Tentoma Packaging Solutions now offers two types of vacuum units to meet different customer needs:
1. Vacuum unit with integrated container
This vacuum unit removes the trimmed film snippets and collects them in a container integrated into the vacuum unit. When the container is full, the base plate can be removed, and the container can be emptied into a bag, a wheeled container, or similar. The packaging process stops when the container is full and automatically resumes when the container is emptied. The packaging system notifies operators when the container is nearly full.
2. Vacuum unit for external container - NEW
This new vacuum unit collects and blows the trimmed film snippets into an external container of the customer’s choice. This solution is ideal for customers who have specific requirements for container type and size, or if they wish to place the container independently of the packaging machine, potentially using a shared container for multiple production lines.
Innovative and sustainable packaging solution
The RoRo StretchPack® technology is based on wrapping with a stretch hood, traditionally used for vertical five-sided wrapping and securing goods on pallets. Tentoma A/S has developed RoRo StretchPack® technology, enabling horizontal wrapping with stretch hood film, allowing four-sided and six-sided packaging. This packaging method is ideal for wrapping rolls, building materials, and other large products. Compared to traditional wrapping methods such as stretch film wrappers and shrink wrapping, RoRo StretchPack® often reduces film consumption by 25-60%.
