It’s considered a design classic in Germany and has won numerous awards since it was introduced in 1969. And it’s said that virtually every German citizen has held one in their hands at some point. We’re talking about what's commonly known as the ‘pearl bottle’ for mineral water, which is made by Genossenschaft Deutscher Brunnen. This cooperative has been one of ALPLA’s customers in Germany since June 2020. The global expert in innovative plastic packaging produces the reusable PET bottle and the preforms needed for this at its site in Vlotho-Exter.

The new packaging will support the sustainability objectives of the Alessandria rice mill which aim to reduce the use of plastic packaging while maintaining all the technical requirements relating to product conservation and durability. Vignola's commitment in this sense also materialized with the purchase of a new filling and sealing machine suitable for paper bags.

Aptar’s SimpliCycle™ valve is made from a TPE material with a low density that allows the valve to float, so it is easily separated from the PET stream, and then ultimately recycled within the PP/PE olefin stream.

Leading packaging and paper manufacturer, Mondi, is launching a fully recyclable 80% paper-based packaging solution for cold meats and cheese. The new packaging will reduce plastic usage for Austrian dairy producer SalzburgMilch by approximately 40 tonnes per year, compared to its previously used rigid plastic trays. Mondi has launched its innovative PerFORMing removable in partnership with SalzburgMilch for the brand SalzburgMilch Premium and the premium own-brand SPAR Natur*pur organic cheese slices.
