Specialty label for needle protection sy...
Multi-Lingual and Compact: Schreiner MediPharm Supplies Booklet-Label for Clinical Trial at Sanofi Oberschleissheim, May 7, 2020 – Schreiner MediPharm has developed a compact Booklet-Label for a needle protection system used in an international phase III clinical trial conducted by pharmaceutical corporation Sanofi. On more than 30 pages, the extensive yet small booklet contains all the required product information in more than 20 languages. Accuracy, safety, efficiency and speed are essential to the successful performance of clinical trials. Since most studies are conducted internationally, the investigational drugs must be reliably marked and provided with a complete set of information in several languages. For this purpose, Sanofi required a multi-page label making the product information available in many different languages. In addition, the label was to firmly adhere to the plastic needle protection system without impairing the system’s functionality. The Booklet-Label developed by Schreiner MediPharm is tightly wrapped around the needle protection system. The compact booklet encompasses 32 pages with medicinal information in 22 languages. It reliably adheres to the plastic substrate of the needle protection system and, due to its flexible material construction of thin booklet paper plus film layers, can be easily wrapped around the quadrangular device. A starter tab makes it possible to easily open and re-close the label. The Booklet-Label is partially affixed to the device so that the pre-filled syringe and its content are readily visible after it has been opened. The booklet is equipped with a perforation, allowing for its removal before an injection—only a small part of the label, which may contain variable data for instance, will subsequently remain on the device. The label material is suitable for custom overprinting using TTR printers and thus efficiently and flexibly supports the processes during the clinical trial. Schreiner MediPharm’s Clinical Trial Supplies (CTS) team is the competence and service partner for clinical trials. It has comprehensive expertise in the area of Clinical Trial Supplies and provides individual and flexible consulting support to all customers according to their needs. A process center specializing in Booklet-Labels is dedicated to creating reliable solutions that are optimally adapted to the packaging of investigational drugs.Company NameSchreiner MedipharmImageDesignationProduct Communications -

Messe frankfurt to focus on highlighting...
As demand for medical supplies soars worldwide in the fight against Covid-19, there is a parallel risk of substandard and counterfeit medicines in the global market. With India being one of the world's largest producers of medical supplies, there is an urgent need to bring in strong anti-counterfeiting measures which will be addressed at Messe Frankfurt’s upcoming conference - Pharmasafe India 2020. Together with healthcare workers on the frontline, the pharmaceutical industry has been actively playing a crucial role and strengthening efforts to ensure best medical services in the battle against Covid-19. However, the trade of counterfeit medicines, which can pose a direct threat to public health and life, has found resurgence in the wake of on-going pandemic. The recent warnings issued by the World Health Organisation indicate that a growing number of fake medicines linked to coronavirus are on sale in developing countries. There have already been multiple incidents reported on the sale of counterfeit facemasks, substandard hand sanitisers, substandard PPE's as well as counterfeit anti-viral drugs to unsuspecting consumers. With an aim to draw attention to the latest developments in the field of anti-counterfeiting technologies for the pharma industry, Messe Frankfurt India will bring key anti-counterfeit solution providers for dialog with the pharma sector at its highly influential Pharmasafe India 2020 conference. The 4th edition of the conference, which was earlier scheduled in April, has now been pushed ahead due to the nationwide lockdown and the new dates will be announced in the coming weeks, when the industry can safely and surely come together to address and reinforce measures for this global issue. Ahead of the conference scheduled this year, Messe Frankfurt is also organising a series of Webinars during the lockdown period to serve the industry with valuable insights from an international panel of experts and thereby helping the industry in charting anti-counterfeiting strategies in the current situation. The first in the series of its pharma sector webinars is scheduled on 28th April and will feature discussions on “Pharmaceutical industry in the wake of global outbreak with a focus on combating substandard and falsified medicinal products and strengthening patient safety.” Experts from the field of healthcare, pharma and anti-counterfeit solution providers such as Dr Uma Nambiar, Ex Special Advisor to the Minister of Health, Djibouti; Dr Krishnamurthy Venkateswaran, CEO, Sanitas Hospital Tanzania; Ms Sireesha Yadlapalli, Director- External affairs, US Pharmacopia; Alan Boyce, Founder, Impact plus foundation; Mr Nakul Pasricha, President & CEO at PharmaSecure and President of Authentication Solution Providers Association (ASPA), Dr Kasonde Mwenya, Managing Director, Center for Global Health Zambia and Mr Jaishankar TS, Chairman & Managing Director, Chemech Laboratories Ltd will take up key points for discussion at the webinar. While the over-arching theme of the webinar will bring attention to immediate topics of relooking at patient safety by eliminating substandard products in the wake of global outbreak, the organiser is working towards addressing burning topics around Covid-19 at the Pharmasafe India conference taking place later this year, surrounding the counterfeit market such as the race for coronavirus vaccine and government initiatives to prevent vaccine counterfeit, Operation Pangea 13: key findings and importance of consolidated global efforts in identifying counterfeit networks, strengthening supply chain and traceability technology to curb counterfeit amid pandemic, mishandling of medicines and addressing the issue of improper vaccine storage and how the pandemic is reshaping brand protection. The conference has drawn strong support from leading associations in the pharmaceutical industry including Authentication Solution Providers' Association (ASPA), Indian Drug Manufacturers' Association (IDMA), Cell for IPR Promotion and Management (CIPAM) and Chamber of Business Leaders. According to a study conducted by the OECD and the European Union Intellectual Property Office, trade in counterfeit pharmaceutical products worldwide is worth just over EUR 4 billion. The longer the pandemic lasts, the more strain supply chains and distribution channels will undergo, making it easy for counterfeits or sub-standard medical products to enter the market. It is crucial to simultaneously focus on anti-counterfeiting and brand protection strategies which Pharmasafe India 2020 together with its webinar series aim to achieve through the combined efforts of technology experts, decision-makers and the Indian pharma industry.Company NameMesse Frankfurt IndiaImageDesignationAssistant Manager - PR -

Reifenhauser reicofil produces meltdown ...
Reifenhäuser Reicofil converts its own meltblown test lines to production and thus supplies material for up to one million face masks daily.
The German machinery and plant manufacturer Reifenhäuser Reicofil has temporarily converted two of its test plants due to the corona pandemic: The lines installed in the nonwovens technology center, which are otherwise exclusively used for research and development as well as customer trials, have been producing meltblown material for the production of urgently needed face masks for one week. This is the company's response to the current emergency in the supply of medical protective material.
Dr. Bernd Kunze, CEO of Reifenhäuser Reicofil, explains the decision as follows: "We have considered what contribution we can make in this crisis. This is of course mainly the fast delivery of meltblown lines to build up additional capacities. We have drastically reduced our delivery times here. But we also wanted to provide support at shorter notice. Until the currently lacking capacities are built up, we are therefore stepping in with the test plants in our pilot plant station. Not using this capacity now would be irresponsible in our view.”

Safe supply chain in hospitals using rfi...
Error-free medication management in hospitals can save lives. Medicines equipped with RFID-Labels can be tracked from the hospital pharmacy to bedside dispensing and their availability ensured. This presupposes that the RFID-Label and tracking system are perfectly matched. The new partnership between pharma label specialist Schreiner MediPharm and the U.S. company Kit Check, a provider of RFID tracking software and hardware, will ensure this in the future.
With the RFID-Labels developed by Schreiner MediPharm combined with Kit Check’s tracking solution hospital pharmacies can track and manage their entire inventory and usage of medications by means of intelligent software. For instance, a large number of syringes and vials equipped with RFID-Labels can automatically be scanned by a Kit Check scanning station to identify their batch numbers and expiration dates. Subsequently, an inventory report is generated that shows which medication is missing or expiring. This not only saves hospital staff a lot of time but, above all, reduces the risk of medication errors and contributes to patient safety.
Compatible and high-performing RFID-Labels are a prerequisite for Kit Check’s viable RFID solutions. To ensure compatibility and performance, the company reviews the label manufacturer’s technical capabilities and compliance with Kit Check's standards around certified inlays, EPC (Electronic Product Code) standards, serialization activities, and quality processes. If found to match Kit Check’s requirements, the supplier is awarded the “Works with Kit Check” trust mark as a certified manufacturer.
Stefan Wiedemann, Senior Director Strategic Marketing and Business Development at Schreiner MediPharm, explains the reasons for the cooperative partnership: “Kit Check’s innovative tracking software and hardware based on RFID is an ideal fit for our portfolio of smart label-integrated RFID solutions. The special design of our customized, highly robust labels ensures reliable readability via the Kit Check systems, thus enabling a safe and efficient supply chain in hospitals.”
Tim Kress-Spatz, co-founder of Kit Check, also welcomes the cooperation: “We know that Schreiner MediPharm has a track record of bringing unique innovations to market in the pharmaceutical space, including functional labels with integrated hangers, tamper-evident features and tactile security elements. We are excited to see the joint innovations that we are going to launch through this partnership.”Image -

Packplus south & printfair is now schedu...
We at PackPlus South and PrintFair want to express our concern for everyone impacted by coronavirus. Like all of you, we have carefully monitored the global health crisis related to COVID-19 coronavirus. Our top priority is the health and safety of everyone involved in PackPlus South 2020 and PrintFair 2020; employees, customers and exhibitors.
Due to the uncertainty in the region and around the world, and after consultation with all our stakeholders, the venue management, supporting associations, and in alignment with the advice from the Indian public health authorities regarding travel to and from impacted countries, we have taken the decision to postpone our event which was due to take place on 20-22 March in Hyderabad.
PackPlus South & PrintFair is now scheduled for 18-20 December 2020 at HITEX Exhibition Center in Hyderabad
This is not a decision that has been taken lightly. We fully understand and appreciate the level of planning that is required to participate in an event like ours. Regrettably, the COVID-19 outbreak and related travel and commercial restrictions make those preparations too difficult to hold the show as planned in March. We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause. We are grateful to our customers for all their support and constructive input during this challenging period.
Leading up to the December event, we will continue to serve the PackPlus and PrintFair community and we are preparing a number of solutions aiming to provide customized services to participants and further maximize successful outcomes at the December event.
We will continue to closely monitor the situation and remain in close contact with all PackPlus South and PrintFair stakeholders in the coming weeks. Our thoughts are with all those affected in these difficult times.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support of PackPlus South.
