Associate Professor Jayashree Arcot and Professor Martina Stenzel from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) were looking for ways to convert agricultural waste into something that could value add to the industry it came from while potentially solving problems for another.

A good contender was the banana growing industry which, according to Arcot, produces large amounts of organic waste, with only 12% of the plant being used (the fruit) while the rest is discarded after harvest.

In the early Nineties Mengibar lead the research in Flow Metering technology incorporating Magnetic and Mass Flowmeters in Linear and Rotary Fillers to replace old fashioned technologies based in Gravimetric systems, Piston Pumps or Weigh (Scales) technology. The new milenium started with the launch of the new Low Reynolds Filling Heads and the Stable Work Environment concept specially designed to reduce foam generacion during the filling operation without the use of mesh components inside of the filling nozzle.

SDA has a gear pump installed in the applicator body to ensure maximum precision when applying the adhesive, and a servomotor that accurately controls the flow applied. But, by optimising the components selected, the company has created a precise, sturdy applicator that is also the lightest on the market.

As a consequence, GEA will shrink its Executive Board to three members. As of March 1, 2020, the latter will comprise the Chairman of the Executive Board Stefan Klebert, the Chief Financial Officer Marcus A. Ketter as well as the company’s Chief Operating Officer Johannes Giloth.  

To be released this time are stylish mini-format instax film “BLUE MARBLE” and square-format instax film “WHITE MARBLE,” both featuring marble patterns on the frames. The marble-design frames are accentuated with glittery gold and silver, turning a daily snap into a memorable special piece.
